Our Family Rejects Prop 8

Today wasn’t much fun (previously on Twitter).

After our family’s philosophical conversations and practical efforts to defeat Proposition 8 last November, it was disappointing to see the California Supreme Court affirm this blatant form of discrimination.

But Enough! Now we’re called to action … beginning with a “Day of Decision” rally that started at Plaza […]

Uncle Timmy’s in Tahoe!

He’s made the big trip from Nashville to Donner Summit, all to try snowboarding for the first time. There’s a famous story about how he missed his chance more than 15 years ago in Vail (when I was learning), but well … here he is trying for his first time.

Keep up to date with […]

Snow Up to Her Chin

As much as we enjoy our new Cabin on Donner Summit, it is also a learning experience at times. We’ve learned several things recently:

Toilet water can freeze. The low temperature inside the cabin is 26F. The driveway is slippery when wet or frosty. If you jump straight off the balcony you can sink neck-deep […]

First Ride: Mad Hatter Tea Cups

After starting the day at American Girl Place, we transitioned to Disneyland for Sunday afternoon and evening.

Kiana’s Mommy & Mali got married on Monday — again! And we were there — again!

We gathered in a much smaller group this time, together at the Santa Clara County Clerk-Recorder’s Wedding Chapel at the Civic Center near downtown San Jose, to celebrate the […]

24+ Miles (Combined)

Sometimes when the girls participate on an activity, it’s hard to single out just one fantastic effort. Today was no exception, as the Booksin Walkathon (a whole-family effort to benefit Jocelyn’s school) went off without a hitch for its 21st year.

Jocelyn got credit for 20 miles — 12 of them before her soccer game […]

Ice Cream Gelato Specials Saturday

For those of you eagerly awaiting the start of the school year … well … you’ll have to have some Ice Cream first.

Saturday marks the return of Jocelyn & Felicia’s annual “Ice Cream Specials” tradition, tentatively set for 2:00 – 4:00 pm at our House. As usual, the girls will be selling scoops of […]
